Titebond III Wood Glue

Regardless of how well you outfit your shop if you aren’t using the right adhesive, you will struggle to create a long-lasting piece you will love. We rely heavily on the fine folks at Titebond. Specifically, we lean on their Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue. This stuff is absolutely amazing.

Some of the benefits? It cleans up with water, yet once it’s dry, it is waterproof.  The bond creates with the wood ends up being strong than the wood itself. This means that as long as you aren’t submerging the piece in water (which loosens the wood grain and allows the glue to pull out) the wood will crack far before the glue joint. It is also helpful to note that this glue is FDA approved for indirect food contact. What is indirect food contact? A simple example is a cutting board.

We used to buy several of the Titebond products and used them depending on what type of product we were making. However now we just pick up gallons of the Titebond III which we use on pretty much everything we produce. You will find people online that will only use the Titebond II line and that is perfectly valid. I’ve never had a problem with the III and since it is FDA approved for cutting boards and we’re producing hundreds of those it just felt simpler to buy one type and go from there.

It’s a fantastic tool to help you with any project. Refinishing some furniture? Yep. Need to repaint the porch? Absolutely. Considering making your own cutting boards? Good to go.
