DEWALT DWE6411K 1/4 Sheet sander

“I have enough clamps” is something no woodworker will ever say. No matter how many you have if you “just had two more” you’d have the perfect amount. When we buy new pipe clamps we generally try to go with Bessey Tools H style models. They have the high clearance feet that offer a lot of benefits for the different types of projects we use them on. Even more importantly they are extremely strong and perform flawlessly every time. From a personal stand point I think its worth commending Bessey for their handly design. Its one of the few that doesn’t seem to hurt my hands after leaning into a dozen of them to get a project tightened up. It may seem like something that shouldn’t be too important when it comes to clamping a project up but if you’re going to put in a 10 hour day in the a shop you will learn to appreciate this.
The clamps come in 1/2″ and 3/4″ depending on the size of the pipe you are going to be using. We currently own some of both sizes but we end up using the 1/2″ more for cutting boards and the 3/4″ for furniture and larger projects.
Looking to pick up a few clamps? Check them out on Amazon or at your local Home Depot. Remember when you buy them that you have to buy the pipe they connect with separately. Home Depot does sell pipe already threaded at one end in different lengths.
It’s a fantastic tool to help you with any project. Refinishing some furniture? Yep. Need to repaint the porch? Absolutely. Considering making your own cutting boards? Good to go. If you or someone you know is just starting out in woodworking (or maybe just buying their first house) this is a great gift idea. It’s incredibly versatile and is worth its weight in gold. The retail price for this sander is right around $50.00 but can be found a little cheaper on sale. If ours ever does break you can be assured I will be replacing it with the exact model within hours.
