While the first week of 2020 brought some serious challenges to us we are beginning to look forward to the positives the next months will bring. The outpouring of support from friends and family was uplifting and inspiring. So many people shared personal stories about my Dad and it really made me feel better in a time when I didn’t think that was possible. Thank you.
He would never have approved of us to just sit around doing nothing, so in terms of the woodshop, the new year starts today. What are we going to be up to in the next few weeks?
Yuengling News
Our friends at Yuengling have requested that we build more serving trays from their rare 1880’s Cyprus. If you missed out on the first batch you will have a second chance when they go on sale again sometime in February. We will post the day we deliver them so you can get yours before they are gone!
The Woodshop
The yearly maintenance of the shop equipment will kick off shortly. Every January we tear down the machines and replace any worn parts, grease where necessary and check all of the belts for damage. We also send our bits and blades for sharpening so we can roll into the new year ready to go.
We will soon be taking down a wall in the shop to increase our workbench space as well as moving some machines around to give us more overall room. This project is going to take a few weeks in itself but the end result will be well worth it. Dad and I planned this for two months. When the blueprint was finally dialed in he gave me my marching orders on what he thought was the right way to go before passing. I will build it to spec. Stay tuned!
