We often get asked about how to care for wooden cutting boards after heavy use. I didn’t have an image handy of a used board but I did have a brand new one that wasn’t finished yet. These pictures are of the same cutting board. On the left is right after I finished sanding it. On the right is right after we rubbed it down with food-grade mineral oil. That is the only step between raw wood and being ready for your kitchen. When you’re board is looking rough just stop at any grocery store or pharmacy and pick up a cheap bottle of food-grade mineral oil (Under $3 for a bottle) and wipe your board down.
