Walnut Frame Nostalgia

walnut frame

While thinking about an upcoming project I began to reminisce about this walnut frame we made last year. This was the first time we needed to produce a perfectly round frame which offers some unique challenges. First and foremost, in order for the frame to be strong, you have to build a flawless octagon which then gets shaped appropriately. Cutting those pieces exactly at 67.5 degrees proved frustrating to say the least. This frame was made to allow the full mirror to sit down inside in view of the user so the interior octagon shape was hidden when assembled. I enjoyed the final product so much I just might have to make one for myself some day.
