A long time customer recently brought us a cedar chest and requested that we return it in better shape and with a distressed coating of Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue chalk paint. When the chest arrived the exterior was layered with an oak veneer that was decorative in its time but had seen better days. Removing veneer is a lesson in insanity so it was easier to apply various repairs and then prep for the paint. The inside of the chest was left as bare cedar so as not to ruin the aroma. The final product is a lovely shade of blue (Yes it’s really called “duck egg”) that fits in any home.
