A Long Nap For Maple

maple stihl dry

This maple was dropped and cut around a year ago. During the time between when it fell and today it has been stickered and drying  comfortably in the open air (covered). A good rule of thumb is to let green wood (wood that is freshly cut) dry for 1 year for every inch thick it is. At a little over two inches these maples cuts still have quite awhile to rest before we look to them for our projects. We are always looking for new trees to add to our drying racks. Walnut and cherry are especially interesting so if you happen to have something you think we should see don’t hesitate to contact us right away!
