New toy day at the shop again. We currently run two Grizzly Industrial G0555 band saws at ES&S. Right out of the box they run a 93″ saw blade which is perfect for the majority of projects. One of our saws was upgraded with a 6″ riser kit several years ago to increase the cutting capacity. Since then we’ve been buying both 93″ blades AND 105″ blades to accommodate both saws. I finally decided to pull the trigger and upgrade the remaining unit so we only have to keep the 105″ blades in stock moving forward. While this purchase isn’t as exciting as a brand new tool or some exotic species of lumber it is still something we’re pretty excited about. And lets be honest, for a wood nerd, any day I get a box with the Grizzly logo on it showing up at the house is a good day.
