Another great example of how beautiful the grain can be in red oak. This piece was sanded to 220 grit before getting a generous coating of pre-stain conditioner. Then a single coat of Minwax Dark Walnut stain. Before it gets bolted up to the top of the restoration project I’m using it for I will apply a few coats of a satin wipe on poly and some finishing wax. It’ll result in a smooth and long lasting finish that will compliment someone’s home for a long time.
