Red oak is a staple in our shop. We always have it on hand as it is an extremely versatile species. It takes well to stain and paint alike. You will see a lot of our country crafts are made from red oak. When it’s left a little rough the grain pattern makes for a lovely aged look after we paint it. Other projects call for some finer sanding like these pieces for a table we made. Sanded out to 320 grit and the grain illuminates under a Minwax Golden Oak stain.
