Some folks just have expensive tastes. Shop manager Benson is certainly one of them. That mid day snack is a cutoff of African Mahogany. While not the most expensive species that we use in the shop it is definitely among them.
African mahogany has a nice tight grain pattern and looks fantastic when properly sanded and treated to a nice clear coat. We never want to stain this wood as the natural color just seems too beautiful to cover up. This piece is a left over from a table project and Benson is our resident expert at inventory control.
