Beautiful maple ribbons within this gorgeous black walnut. This cheese board requires a little extra care and precision but the final product is absolutely worth the time and effort. Those delicate strips of hard maple go all the way through the walnut, not just inlayed into the top. That way you can use both sides equally. I won’t tell you about the anxiety experienced while trying to cut ribbons that thin with a 10″ blade spinning at 4300 rpm. 

This pic was taken prior to the final shaping and sanding so it hasn’t been smoothed out yet. When it’s finally done and under oil those colors will compliment any home. Come see this piece and a few similar styles at the Leesport Easter Craft Show on March 24th and 25th.
