Mahogany is one wood that always looks beautiful whether it’s rough cut (shown here) or planed to perfection. What will all of these pieces become? Some will be table tops. Others will be introduced into some shelving designs. A few may become some custom kitchenware pieces available for the coming Holiday season.
Do you have mahogany in your home now? Curious on how to properly care for it? Here are a few tips.
1. Mahogany doesn’t like moisture. If you have to use water to clean it only use a damp cloth and never a wet/saturated one.
2. Mixing vinegar and warm water in a bowl and applying it with a lint free cloth will help to clean older mahogany. Wipe dry when finished.
3. If you spill something on mahogany try to clean it up immediately. Protective finishes can wear off of mahogany pretty quickly and it will stain fast.
4. Never use any form of kitchen or bathroom cleaner on mahogany.
