It’s always important to make sure you use quality materials in your products regardless of what the finished product might be. The pumpkin decoration pictured here is made out of 1″ thick solid red oak. After the shape is cut it is then painted and the various additions are put in place. Why use such a solid hardwood under something that will never show the beautiful grain? Because we want this decoration to be around 10 years from now. We want it to resist changes in humidity and temperature when its in storage in an attic or basement. We want it to never deform from pressure or break when it falls from a tall shelf.
