This beautiful sappy maple had to come down on Thursday but I just can’t let it go to firewood. I’m bartering with the owner to allow me to mill and air dry it so that I can turn it into something that can be enjoyed for years to come. What will it be? Pepper grinders? Bottle toppers? Cutting boards? A table!?!  Too early to tell. But one of the best parts about woodworking is reclaiming what someone else might see as garbage and turning into someone else’s idea of perfection. I’ll post pictures of this woods journey as it goes from logs on the ground to loved in someone’s home.
