Cleans Up Nice

This rough cut maple was sitting in the garage for months now soaking in the sunshine through the windows and collecting all manner of dust and dirt. I needed some clean maple the other day so I brought it down to the shop and ran it through the planer. I love using the planer on rough cut lumber. The first pass always reveals the beautiful wood underneath that you just can’t see beforehand. It took three passes total to get this maple ready for use but now it’s flawless and ready to be built into a lot of the cutting boards that will be at the Arts Barn Fall Festival on September 25th. Come to the festival and mention this post and I’ll give you 10% off anything at my stand with maple in it!
